One of our superior rooms the "Silver Darlings" is the old Orcadian name for herrings and when our building was built in 1880 it was a curing station for pork and Herring . This gorgeous room on the 2nd floor still has its original beamed ceilings, recycled woodwork and an electric velux window which you can open by remote control from your bed if you wish along with solid oak board flooring. It has been individually designed by Judith Glue to reflect the colours of Orkneys wild seascape and huge skies. Decorated with Bronte Tweed and Velvet furnishings with Eribe Knitwear Interior accessories and an original artwork of the "Silver Darlings" painted by Jane Glue- Judith's twin sister hangs above the bed.

With super king size bed available as double or twin and Egyptian cotton bedding, dressing gowns, full length mirror, ironing board and iron, hair dryer, long work table with desk chair and USB points ideal for business customers and complimentary coffee, choice of teapigs tea and shortbread with fresh milk on request.
There is also a fantastic en-suite bathroom with an amazing picture of Orkneys glittering seascape above the double ended bath tub and a blue whale sculpture sits on the flag stone sill in the window that has wooden shutters. There is pebble tiling on the wall that makes you feel you are just sitting on an Orkney beach but with the luxuries of underfloor heating, a deep large bath and rainfall shower, mist free light up wall mirror, magnifying mirror and complementory Scottish toiletries.

Sleeps up to two adults and one child under 12 years old or if you prefer you can book "Maeshowe" next door for a family and have your own private access to both the "Silver Darlings" and "Maeshowe" rooms.
