Classic Room 103
Our classic room is a much smaller size than our deluxe and superior rooms but as comfortable and luxurious, but more suitable for visitors who are staying with us for one or two nights . It has been named after Norn which is the old name for the Norse dialect that originally was spoken in Orkney. The wall is adourned with Norn an ancient language with some words which Orcadians would still use even today. The book Norn was printed in 1929 in The Storehouse which was originally used by Leonards who used to be printers and book sellers. When Judith and David bought The Store there were old printed pages of the Norn book which were then collated and made into 100 copies and sold in aid of the Kirkwall Lifeboat and donated by the previous owner George Leonard.
This room has a juliet balcony with lots of character with its original historic beamed ceiling and original ships masts pole with recycled woodwork. It is individually decorated by Judith Glue with Bronte Tweed and Velvet furnishings with matching Eribe Knitwear Interior accessories, thick velvet and Bronte tweed blackout curtains and an original Orkney artwork hanging above the bed painted by Jane Glue - Judith's twin sister.
With a luxurious super king size bed with padded tweed and velvet head board, chest of drawers with hooks for clothing, free Wi Fi, 40" television and plenty of USB points. This room is available as double or twin the bed has Egyptian cotton bedding, there are thick luxurious dressing gowns, complimentary coffee, local shortbread and choice of teapigs tea.
