Situated in the centre of Kirkwall close to St Magnus Cathedral and registry office we have the ideal location to hold your wedding whether it is a small intimate affair in our private dining room or a large affair in our main restaurant area. We also have a bar adjoining our restaurant which makes a great reception space with log burning fire and comfy seating for your guests when they arrive for canapes and fizz while you get photos taken. The Bride and Groom can also choose to take their vows with us if they wish to, in beautiful surroundings which make the perfect Wedding. We can seat up to 30 in our private dining area and comfortably 80 in our main restaurant area. We are licenced to hold up to 180 if you wish to invite guests to an after party.
Hire costs for our venue depend on time of year and which part or indeed if you require our building exclusively. Our Wedding menu costs £75 per person depending on your choices, including canapes and tea or coffee, and if anyone has any dietary needs these can be accomodated seperately. We can also offer a childrens menu ( under 12 years old ). An extensive Wedding Choice Menu with canapes is available to see on our home page
We are happy to host small receptions in our private dining room which seats up to 30 guests or you can hire our main restaurant to seat up to 80 guests or indeed our whole building which can also be exclusively hired along with our eight luxury bedrooms on the upper two floors, including a superior room with a balcony which is perfect as a honeymoon suite or to get dressed in on your big day. If you hire us exclusively you will have all day exclusive use from 1pm on the Wedding day to 11am check out the next day which means your wedding party and guests can truly enjoy their stay in this unique venue, of course if you stay the night before or extra nights then this is ideal if you want to get ready on the morning of your wedding. If you do not require all 8 rooms and if other guests are staying then we will accomodate them for food in the front bar away from the main reception.
We are happy for you to decorate tables and arrange for your florist to decorate our outside stairways or hire an arch for our doorway to make our venue truly work for you personally. You can also make your own spotify playlist that can be played through our sound system or hire your own piper to pipe you in !
